More than 25 years of financial management experience, Mohammad is definitely a huge credential backing up Desert Gate.

This graduate of B.B. A Accounting & Finance from Yarmouk University, started his career as a Financial Officer in the Ministry of Defense in Amman, Then became the Finance & Administrative Manager of Oman Chromite Company (PJSC) which is one of the leading Mining Companies in Oman.

15 years ago , Mohammad joined Desert Adventures Tourism Dubai as CFO , later continued handling the same position for Kuoni DMC Middle East till he joined hands again with our Group CEO as the group CFO playing a vital role in making sure that all areas of accounting produce bottom-line results and financial strength is up to our expectations.

This energetic and visionary of a man will surely steer the company in achieving its set goals. “To achieve significant cost reductions and revenue/profit improvements through reengineering, team building, and leadership expertise,” armed with this credo Mohammed is sure to bring greater and brighter things for Desert Gate.

British by birth, brought up in Spain and South America, Nick brings the experience, creativity and industry knowledge to support taking Desert Gate to the next level and fulfil our vision of being the “Reference in Premium travel in the region” Having led both inbound and outbound businesses, he brings a vast range of knowhow to our group that is key to understanding our partners better and how to successfully serve them.

Before joining Desert Gate, Nick was Managing Director of Global Ground Services for DNATA, looking after product and supplier relations for their brands worldwide. Before that, he was for many years Managing Director of COCHA Destination Management, Global Luxury and MICE for the largest travel group in Chile and one of the 3rd largest in South America.

With Nick on-board, Desert Gate enters a new phase of growth, augmenting its relationships with its Supplier Partners with a unique value proposition, and at the same time, offering a wider range of top quality product, services and support to its global Commercial Partners

Managing Director - Oman

Jamal is by far our spearhead for all our new projects in Oman. Jamal journey started 20 years ago in Dubai joining our group CEO in Dubai Star Tourism then moved together and created Desert Adventures Tourism in 1997 opening its offices in Doha as well as Muscat Oman where he managed the company till 2013.

All roads lead to loyalty and friendship. Jamal again accepted the challenge in joining hands with our Group CEO and opening our new established Desert Gate offices in Oman – Muscat mid 2014.

Jamal brings with him a wealth of experience and management skills which is very much needed in bringing Oman office to the expected levels.

Guest centric, dynamic and hospital is what we can say about Jamal. His team on the ground learns every day that the way to success is to treat each client as a guest coming home.

Director of Sales & Marketing

Lara is a highly creative and accomplished Marketing Specialist with impressive business development abilities, her long and very eventful journey in these fields have brought her to where she is now bringing to the table her wit, her strong interpersonal skills, leadership and her keen eyes for potential business ventures.

Lara comes with a lengthy multidimensional experience in Marketing and Management due to her previous roles in key Multinational companies in the region, like Leo Burnett and Beyond Reform and Development a regional consultancy firm that she co-founded in 2010 to help in the construction and the development of several governmental and semi-organizations around the Arab world.

Prior to joining Desert Gate, Lara was the Chief Marketing Officer of Meeting Point Emirates which is one of the leading B2B providers of incoming travel services for professionals worldwide. She was mainly responsible for the company’s UAE sales initiatives, product and new business development, client relationships, market research, media relations, web and electronic services, corporate programs and controlling the UAE budget for third party businesses. Lara with her unparalleled expertise on market analysis and exploitation as well as strategy and business development with a UAE focus is truly a natural addition to Desert Gate’s roster of Sales and Management Team.

Director of Sales

With her 20 years of experience in the tourism industry here in UAE, her motto is “Nothing is impossible, everything is possible”. Her work is her passion, pride and joy. She is very professional, responsible and trustworthy. According to her, she is very tuned to the atmosphere around her and with a touch of femininity and a kind smile she makes the teamwork smooth and pleasant. Her key to her staying power in Travel & Tourism is a diplomatic way of handling both the business partners and her team members.

From 1995 to 1998 she worked in Mystic Tour (Dubai) & In 1998 our Group CEO invited her to work with him where she was exposed to lots of challenges related to the business of tourism and travel till she changed the role of Asst. Director of Sales in 2012 to lead the Quality Control & Customer Service department .

She Loves stability, but always welcomes new challenges in life, because “Whatever happens – happens for the best “.

Desert Gate Team will not be completed without her passion, she moved to the company without hesitation from day number one as a Director of Sales CIS & EEC.

Director of Contracting & Negotiations

Jawad has a post graduate degree in Tourism from Delhi University, India. He’s been selling dreams to tourists from all over the world for the last 20 years.

He set his sails to Saudi Arabia in 1994 to work for Al Tayyar Travel Group, Eagle Holidays and moved to Dubai in 1999 to work for DOTW as Contracting Manager for four years, hugely contributing to the growth of the company in Inbound and outbound business.

In 2003 he joined Desert Adventures and worked for 11 years as Head of Contracting contributing immensely to the growth of the company. At present, he again joined Mr. Samir to grow his new baby Desert Gate Tourism. As a team, they will work for the success of DG.

Jawad sees to it that he creates a great balance between his professional and personal life. He’s a happy family man with a wife who stay at home to take care of him and the family and a son who’s currently studying medicine.

Senior Sales Manager - Group Travel

As a Senior Sales Manager– Groups Travel, he leads and develops the Groups Team. His primary responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic key account management plans to increase revenue and ensure client retention. He is tasked to build effective relationship to maintain client partnership. Moreover, he is responsible in managing Groups operators, assistants, processes and department needs, which includes providing direction and motivation to staff regarding all processes. He ensures smooth, reliable and profitable planning and operations so that he can build and expand our client base as well as provide support in the day-to-day tasks and longer-term plans.

He came from Stanford with more than seven years of experience. Having served the MICE & Groups department for a long time, he is an expert in negotiating with the suppliers and hotels, as well as managing and organizing the MICE program.

Director of Logistics

Working in a travel industry may not seem to be the initial path Muhammad was taking after he had completed a year in Faculty of Economic Political Science and Faculty of Pharmacy in Syria and Moscow, respectively. However, after six months of working in a pharmacy in Syria back in 1995, he landed a job in Dubai Star Tourism which started his long and momentous career in travel and tourism.

In Dubai Star Tourism, he worked his way up and proved that sheer hard work, perseverance and positive attitude can definitely bring you success starting as a Russian Guide then an Airport Representative, later their Operations Officer. Handling operations clearly display his prowess in terms of people management, strategy development and quality work implementation. These traits had landed him the Operations Manager post in Desert Adventures Tourism. His 16-year stint in Desert Adventures Tourism gave him all the experience, skills and knowledge that prepared him for bigger responsibilities being the incumbent Director of Logistics for Desert Gate Tourism.

Operations and Logistics are his areas of expertise but what’s even tangible is how good he is in handling his people, treating them like family, consequently, earning their fierce loyalty in the process.

His job as the Director of Logistics invigorates him, thus fuelling him to do better each day. His passion on his work and his positivity brings great results. And like what Confucius once said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” Muhammad loves what he is doing and everything else follows.

Director of Experience

“As Director of Product, her primary responsibilities include Initiation, negotiation and setting-up products that are very specific to Desert Gate in order to help increase business demand and ensure client retention. She is tasked to create the next generation of products and propositions with innovations built on client insight and market trend while negotiating with the suppliers.

Prior to joining Desert Gate, Meriem has gained important and diverse work experience in the Travel Industry over the past 7 years. She is holder of a Bachelor degree in English literature and speaks Arabic, English, French and German.“

Senior Market Manager

Being part of the travel industry for 18 years and almost 6 of those years in Dubai, she has been fortunate enough to increase her experience in tourism at Desert Gate, her aim is to work with agents to help them build their business, educate them in some the less knows destinations that Desert Gate covers and assist them to make sure Desert Gate is their first point of call for UAE, Oman and Qatar requirements.

She has a great passion for Middle East and an intrinsic understanding of tour operations and the present day travelers’ needs in that region.

Market Manager

Meeting new challenges head on invigorates Martina. This attribute of her contributed hugely on her decision to make the big leap- that is to leave her home country Czech Republic and start a new life and career in UAE as she accepted the responsibilities of Market Manager for Desert Gate Tourism. Venturing into challenging experiences, trying out something different, learning something new and overcoming all the obstacles along the way seem like her expertise.

Her extensive knowledge on the travel industry and her go getter attitude fit perfectly with Desert Gate’s current roster of leaders.

Prior to moving to DG, Martina worked for Emirates (Czech Republic) for five years (2010- 2015) as Sales Executive handling the Leisure market. The job required her to develop portfolio of accounts, to manage the sales process from start to closure, to help agents achieve all revenue targets and other tasks to maintain business relationship.

Her long journey in the world of travel and tourism all started when she grabbed the Ticketing Agent post for Travel Plus, Lufthansa City Centre back in 2004. Later she was tapped to work for its MICE and FIT department as Incentive Travel Consultant where she made a big difference by completing and realizing the incentive packages for its groups, business and VIP clients.

In 2007, she started working for Special Tours Prague (GSA for Singapore Airlines). Being its Sales Manager, she worked day in and day out to help intensify its sales and marketing campaigns.

She then transferred to Marco Polo International, Prague as Product Manager for its Southeast Asia Market. Here she was responsible in the completion of their travel packages for individual, group, incentive and tailor- made travel for individual and corporate clients local and overseas. She also worked closely with their partners abroad.

Outside the office and leaving her goal-driven and hardworking persona for a while, Martina enjoys travelling, meeting people of different cultures, watching movies and great food.

Akram holds an engineering degree in Computer with an excellent rating, he joined Desert Gate to fulfill his talent for Creative Technology and Marketing where he brings with him years of IT knowledge on system developments, Digital/Social Media & Marketing.

Akram in his role today is responsible for Desert Gate technological expansion, Global Marketing and Social Media, his best practice comes from his passion to connect people with products through systems and software’s with his ability to harness technology in every aspect of a Destination Management Company.

Aram’s best trait is his eagerness to share his talents and knowledge with colleagues and partners to contribute to our everyday transition into a techno dynamic atmosphere.
