Meeting new challenges head on invigorates Martina. This attribute of her contributed hugely on her decision to make the big leap- that is to leave her home country Czech Republic and start a new life and career in UAE as she accepted the responsibilities of Market Manager for Desert Gate Tourism. Venturing into challenging experiences, trying out something different, learning something new and overcoming all the obstacles along the way seem like her expertise.
Her extensive knowledge on the travel industry and her go getter attitude fit perfectly with Desert Gate’s current roster of leaders.
Prior to moving to DG, Martina worked for Emirates (Czech Republic) for five years (2010- 2015) as Sales Executive handling the Leisure market. The job required her to develop portfolio of accounts, to manage the sales process from start to closure, to help agents achieve all revenue targets and other tasks to maintain business relationship.
Her long journey in the world of travel and tourism all started when she grabbed the Ticketing Agent post for Travel Plus, Lufthansa City Centre back in 2004. Later she was tapped to work for its MICE and FIT department as Incentive Travel Consultant where she made a big difference by completing and realizing the incentive packages for its groups, business and VIP clients.
In 2007, she started working for Special Tours Prague (GSA for Singapore Airlines). Being its Sales Manager, she worked day in and day out to help intensify its sales and marketing campaigns.
She then transferred to Marco Polo International, Prague as Product Manager for its Southeast Asia Market. Here she was responsible in the completion of their travel packages for individual, group, incentive and tailor- made travel for individual and corporate clients local and overseas. She also worked closely with their partners abroad.
Outside the office and leaving her goal-driven and hardworking persona for a while, Martina enjoys travelling, meeting people of different cultures, watching movies and great food.
